writernet has worked closely with NAWE, in particular as part of literaturetraining, and also CreativePeople, Arts Connect, Creative Renewal, on the databasing of Higher Education Courses and as part of the Book Trust's Writing Together Project.
The National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) is the one organization supporting the development of creative writing of all genres and in all educational settings throughout the UK.
* to promote and develop the educational ideals of writers and to make the benefits of their work available to a wider cross section of students; and
* to open up a dialogue between teachers, writers and organisers in order to develop those ideals.
The Directory of Writers is a detailed database funded by six of the Regional Arts Boards of England as part of artscape, the online directory of the arts. writernet is working with NAWE to ensure complementarity of data and maximum accessability for those wanting to work with writers.
The directory also features sectors for other artforms: theatre; music, dance, photography & digital imaging.
